Recycling company announces plans for plant in Muhlenberg Township

"This is a great thing for Muhlenberg," said Michael Malinowski, president of the Muhlenberg Township Board of Commissioners.

CarbonLITE, a recycling company out of Los Angeles, will open a brand new facility along Route 61 in Muhlenberg Township.

"It's going to make the property across from Bob Fisher just a beautiful site," Malinowski said.

CarbonLITE says the plan is to build a 270,000 square-foot plant from the ground up, a total investment of more than $80 million.

"Good paying jobs, secure jobs, you know construction jobs. I mean it's a huge facility that they're building, so we're extremely happy about the type of work and the type of economic development and tax base it'll grow for Muhlenberg," Malinowski said.
